Just wondering, what reactions you've encountered with people while filming in the public with the super 8 camera. I've had many people wondering what the I was holding - seems to them it looks like a weird hand gun.
Funny story, my camera looks a bit like a radar gun, and once I was holding a story board while my friend was holding the camera. A car drove buy, slowed down and once it drove pass us, it sped up. This happened a few times actually.
Well, anyway, just wonderin'.

There was a similar post like this on the Shooting 8mm website forum. I have had mixed reactions to shooting with Super 8. Many people do wonder what kind of camera it is and are often drawn into the beautiful "wrrrrrrr" ing noise we are familiar with. Seems most people are used to a silent "video camera." Some film buffs ask me if my Nizo 6080 is a 16mm camera and every now and then people actually have the knowledge and ask me if it's either "8mm" or very rarely "Super 8" that I'm filming with. It's a great conversation starter with old film guys. I have mixed feelings about the attention myself.
